We will still follow our home inspection process as outlined in our Standards of Practice – What we inspect page. But, we’ll ask more pet-friendly questions.
Are there:
- dangerous areas that a pet could climb or jump through?
- choking, strangulation and suffocation hazards?
- loose wires and electrical cords that could be chewed?
- human foods and medications that could be eaten?
- indoor and outdoor plants that are pet-safe?
- latches on lower cupboards?
- locks toilet lids?
- covered trash cans or are they located inside a latched cabinet?
- windows screens made of sturdy wire mesh that’s properly installed?
- non-porous, hard-surface floor coverings?
- heating and cooling vent registers with secure louvered covers?
- holes in the walls or cabinets that need repair?
- openings or holes under the fence?
- rescue alert stickers on windows and doors for emergency responders?
